- Questions & Answers -
WHAT IS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE LIKE?
I would describe my style as visual storytelling. This means I create natural scenes by capturing real life in an unobtrusive way. My photos are all about the emotion and atmosphere of the moment, with my own creative touch.
WHAT TYPE OF CAMERA DO YOU USE?
I use two full-frame Nikon camera bodies and a number of prime lenses, which I use solely for their low light performance and sharpness and bokeh. In my opinion, a prime lens produces the best aesthetics.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE EDITING PROCESS?
Firstly, I select the best photos from the shoot, then I take time and care to edit them and remove all the little imperfections, so they have the right look and feel.
WHICH AREAS DO YOU COVER?
I mainly cover Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch. However, I’m happy to travel further, especially into Dorset and The New Forest, where there are so many wonderful and picturesque settings to choose from.
WHERE WILL THE PHOTOS BE TAKEN?
I offer studio and/or outdoor sessions. I love doing both with my clients, especially families. Studio sessions are available anytime, regardless of the weather. As for outdoor sessions, most people prefer to do the shoot on a sunny day and use scenic locations. However, I'm quite keen on doing sessions anywhere, in a variety of weather conditions.
WHERE IS THE STUDIO?
65 Stamford Road, Bournemouth, BH6 5DT.
WHAT ARE YOUR OPENING HOURS?
Our usual opening hours are Monday-Friday 9am - 3pm. However, evening and weekend appointments are available upon request.
IS THERE PARKING?
Yes. There are two parking spaces on the driveway.
WHO CAN COME TO THE PHOTO SHOOT?
I welcome families or individuals, but I prefer you not to bring any spectators, as we will need all the extra studio space for placing lights and backdrops. However, if you do bring other people along, they can make themselves at home in our lounge area and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, while they wait.
DO YOU OFFER GIFT VOUCHERS?
Yes. You can buy vouchers of any value. Vouchers can also come with customised text and/or pictures.
WHAT ARE YOUR PRICES?
As I offer a wide variety of photography services, I usually price jobs after talking over the details with the client, but you can find pricing of my basic packages in 'Pricing' section.
HOW DO I BOOK A SESSION?
Simply use the contact form on my website. Alternatively, if you have any questions about your idea for the photoshoot, you can email me at: email@example.com . We can then agree on a date and a time that suits you best. I can do weekday, evening and weekend shoots. You will then be expected to pay the deposit to confirm your booking.
For wedding photography please send me your date, venue location and which wedding package best matches your requirements and I will send you the wedding contract with more information.
WHAT ELSE DO I GET FOR THE SESSION PRICE?
Once you book a photo shoot, you’ll get a pre-photo shoot consultation with me, via email, phone or, if you prefer, we can meet face-to-face over a coffee. After the photo shoot, I’ll edit and re-touch your images and create an on-line gallery of your photos, at no extra cost.
HOW LONG IS A TYPICAL PHOTOSHOOT?
Anywhere between 1 to 4 hours. I like to ensure the clients aren’t rushed and get the photos they want. The photoshoot is set at a fixed price, so the amount of time we take won’t affect the cost.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
I always say you should wear whatever you feel comfortable in or whatever helps create the image you want to convey. For family shoots, wearing a colour palette of earthy tones is always pleasing to the eye. Overall, though it’s best to keep the clothing simple, avoiding anything with logos, lettering or images emblazoned across the front.
If you’re not sure what you should wear, then please just ask when booking your photo shoot.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING THE PHOTOSHOOT?
I prefer taking natural and authentic photos, that's why I avoid posing or using too many props. I will guide you a little bit, depending on what I see through my camera. If you have any particular ideas or type of photo style in mind, then please feel free to tell me about it.
WHERE DO YOU GET PHOTOS PRINTED?
I use professional printers and vendors for high quality fine art prints. However, if you want order the prints yourself, I can recommend local and online companies.
DO YOU OFFER ANYTHING SPECIAL?
Because I also specialise in computer programming and website design, I can offer my clients an option of a free online photo gallery (with a link to send to friends / family), or a website at extra cost, which is a great option for wedding couples. If you chose this last option, then it's good to have your 'big day' website done just after a pre-wedding shoot with me, and at least half a year before your wedding, so all your guests (family and friends) can view it, read about you, your story, send you wishes online, have a look at your wedding gift wish-list, see details about your wedding, and confirm their arrival, or let you know about their special needs (diet, accommodation, and other), etc...
DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH OTHER EVENTS / OCCASIONS?
Yes, I love doing photography for all occasions, no matter how unusual the event may be. If you have anything in mind, then please just ask.
I am more than happy to answer any other questions or queries you may have, please just contact me at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
